Another way: paste in gedit, select all the text, then type SHIFT-TAB. It will indent everything to the left.

Perfect.

I tried the UNR 1.01 image for a week or two, but couldn't get everything working. I tried the lpia intrepid port, then unsuccessfully tried installing hardy, and finally ended up installing intrepid.

Now everything pretty much works to my satisfaction with your kernel. Thanks!

Yes Thinkey, it's normal that the wifi LED doesn't work with this kernel, as it uses the Atheros driver which doesn't support the LED. It doesn't bother me as much as the non functional wifi kill switch.

What I would like to know is how to kill wifi. It's never dead even though I disable wifi with NetworkManager. I know because my Aspire One generates interference in my desktop PC speakers when I put it on my desk.

Is there a sure way to know if wifi is active, and how could I kill wifi?

Thought these packages would take care of that and id be done tweaking. instead i have no wifi, no mic, no blinking lights nada after the install. tried to recompile the madwifi drivers so i can get at least wifi working and nope, get two errors. So now i have to format and start from scratch.

:(

Make sure you are not blacklisting the ath_hal module for the wireless, you may want to blacklist the ath_pci module instead. For the mic try adjusting the volume in the mixer controls. And the lights will not work with the wireless drivers built into the kernel.

i am not sure if this is a bug or it is just the delay in showing the OSD in this new kernel version. The button, depressed, i was only getting the decrase shown on OSD, where as when trying to increase the brightness button depressed, nothing show up in the screen. The screen does get brighten up, the button(FN+backlite) indeed working.

Could this be a bug or it is some minor adjustment.

Thanks.

Thanks a ton, after a long time of waiting, I installed an ubuntu instead of linpus yesterday.

It's an Xubuntu 8.04, the rc7 of dec 5 works very well. It takes only a few more seconds to boot up than that on linpus.

Thank you again for your great work.
